I want to know if internet relationship works because I have the perception that it doesn't and the guys are always after sex and nothing else.

Am of the opinion that they work n they don't.

It can only work if both parties hv a common goal n none is intent on exploiting the other either materially or otherwise.

The only impendiment 2 it's success is greed n selfishness.

As it has bn said by some in their comments, where U meet ur partner is of less importance n value but how dedicated the two (2) of U towards the success of the relationship is what will make or break it.
